Job Summary:
We are mandated to hire a polisher for a major client with the largest and most competitive metal surface treatment facilities in Quebec, providing plating processes to the automotive, aerospace, electronics, military and commercial sectors.

*** Polishers work on the shop floor and perform the tasks listed below:

- Count and verify number of parts as indicated on work order to ensure that the proper number of parts are produced
- Fill-in and complete process sheets
- Prepare parts prior to polishing/brushing, when required
- Ensure work area is kept clean and maintained at all times
- Participate in regular training sessions to ensure they can work in other areas
- Ensure environmental norms, standards and procedures are followed at all times through verification with Lab Technician, when required
- Perform inspection of parts, both prior to and upon completion of process, and inform supervisor of any issues with quality
- Ensure familiarity with various odors associated with processes and immediately inform supervisor of any irregular odors.
- Inspect and pack parts for delivery once processes have been completed
- Polish objects or parts to correct defects or to prepare surfaces for further finishing, using hand tools and power tools, as needed.
- Load and adjust work pieces onto equipment or work tables, using hand tools when needed.
- Measure and mark equipment, objects, or parts to ensure polishing standards are met.
- Move controls to adjust, start, or stop equipment during polishing processes.
- Remove completed work pieces from equipment or work tables, using hand tools, and place work pieces where appropriate for next step in process.
- Select abrasives and/or pastes, according to materials, sizes and shapes of work pieces, amount of stock to be removed, finishes specified, and steps in finishing processes.
- Verify quality of finished work pieces by inspecting them, comparing them to templates, measuring their dimensions, or testing them in working machinery.
- Mark defects for possible rework.
- Record product and processing data on work orders when needed.
- Assist in minor repair and maintain equipment, objects, or parts, using hand tools.
- Change polishing wheel when needed.
- Transfer equipment, objects, or parts to specified work areas, using moving devices.
- Perform other duties as required
